Sneak Peek

Our shared bedroom went through a few different configurations in the last couple of months. This was the most recent before we moved Whitney into her own room, which was basically our former shared space.

Our side

Not the greatest photos, as we don't get a lot of natural light on the lower level of our loft, but then "before" shots are usually not as nice as the "after" ones.

I haven't managed to put the finishing touches in Whitney's room - artwork still needs to be hung, hooks moved and some decor is on its way in the mail - or our room either, so the after pictures are still coming.

But here's a peek at part of Whitney's room and what's keeping me busy these days.

Our little girl has started to crawl! We are proud parents, but it means we have to babyproof our place pronto.

Back with some more pictures hopefully by the weekend.

Studio Peeks & Work in Progress

Despite the long weekend, it's a working weekend for us. Here's a peek at my button and magnet making station around 8:30 this morning.

And here are some more peeks around my home studio from this morning.

my clothing stock (on the left) & the not yet completed "walk-in closet" ( it's going to be enclosed with curtains)

And here's how things were looking mid-afternoon...

Matt decided that this was the weekend he was going to build the sliding shoji doors, mentioned in a previous post. So after a trip to Home Depot this morning, and several hundred buckaroos later, work began and is still going as I type.

Needless to say, our place is looking and feeling a bit chaotic at the moment. Most of our downstairs is a work in progress, really. But once these doors are up, and after another trip to Ikea in the near future, I think our place will start looking and feeling a whole lot better. Fingers crossed!

And the Winner is...

I made the draw for the August blog giveaway earlier this afternoon. And the lucky winner is Sarah! Thanks to all who entered last month. It started out a bit slow, but in the end there were 60-some entries. I loved hearing about your favourite summer movies and will have to check out the ones I haven't yet seen.

Remember, giveaways are on a monthly basis and a guaranteed way to enter is simply by becoming one of my blog followers or by joining my Happy Customers gallery on flickr!

The latest items to hit the shop are pictured below:

These have been in the works for some time but I only got around to printing them this past weekend.

And here's a sneak peek of what else will be added to the shop very soon. Still some finishing touches needed to make these all the more special. Check back in a week or two.

My Messy Desk & Other Photos

my messy desk
Here's a peek at my messy (for me) desk. Now that the surface area is smaller than before, it tends to get overcrowded pretty quickly, which takes down my productivity level a notch or two. But I have been working on things. That's the new stationery set that is a little more than half done.

Here's a closer look:

Things have been slow going this week as my mood has been up and down and same with my energy level. I found out that I wasn't accepted into the One of a Kind Show earlier this week, and neither were my friends. Of course we think it's their loss. I am on the waiting list though and will hear back in about two months whether or not a space has opened up. But even if I were offered a spot, it's never as nice as knowing that you made the initial cut.

Anyways, here are some more photos around our home to take you into the weekend.

Sneak Peeks

I mailed in my One of a Kind application yesterday and just received word that it was received. Yay! Keep your fingers crossed for my friend and me, that we both get in! We'll both be novice artisans at the show then.

That's a peek at part of my booth sketch above, a combo of drawing and PhotoShopping.

I had a bit of a scare when I was on my way home from the post office, realizing that I had forgotten to include something on the application. They say that if you forget anything your application won't even be looked at, that it will just be sent back to you. Luckily I was able to retrieve the envelope before it was sent out and add what I needed. Then I got all paranoid that the stuff would fall out of the envelope because I didn't reseal it properly. And later in the evening... well, you get the picture. I can be a little neurotic at times.

I did remember to include some photos of my studio, so here's a little peek at what it's looking like these days. Matt snapped these photos for me the other night.

I just moved my old table/desk behind the sofa the other day which is great because now I can watch the tv when I'm making buttons and magnets.

Next on my to do list is taxes. But I'm hoping to get outside this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather too. So we'll see if I'm able to finish them this weekend.

Have a great one!

Hi, weekend!

The week seems to have flown by. I can't believe it's the weekend again already. I swear that it was Tuesday, just yesterday. Time flies when you're having fun, I suppose.

Here are some sneak peeks of the things I worked on this past week and that will be hitting the shop in the next day or so.

I'm still working out the kinks of printing more than one colour for one image. It's something I hope to master at some point, but I haven't bothered to set up a proper registration system yet... which results in prints like this:

I think it looks a bit weird, but Matt says it's "arty", so maybe I can get away with it?

There's more stuff in the works, but no photos yet. The past few days have been so grey and overcast that I've been lucky to snap any decent photos. It's supposed to be sunny and cold the whole weekend, so I'm looking forward to staying in and being a busy bee as well as indulging in at least a few hot chocolates.

Happy Weekend to you!
